Exceptions:

There are some exceptions to the pricing of the group or family paintings. When the desired painting is not a formal portrait, but rather a scene, (for instance a family on the beach at a distance), this would require much less attention to accuracy and likeness. This type of painting would begin at 2000.00.

Portraits are generally done in oil, graphite is also an option. For graphite  prices would be half of what is noted above.

I prefer to work with subjects from life and photography, a mixture that allows the benefits of capturing natural color and limiting the time the subject is required to pose. I normally do this in a studio setting unless there is a requested location. The setting costs are included in the price. Any location requests outside of greater Boise area will be considered for an additional cost.

The sitting would involve a quick sketch of the subject with color samples and composition decisions, and multiple digital photographs taken. You will be asked to approve the photograph that will be used for reference.

While half payment of the portrait is required at the time of the sitting as a deposit, your approval of the final painting is required prior to collecting full payment. Your satisfaction with the portrait is guaranteed and a full refund will be provided in the event that the painting does not meet your expectations.
